The old town of Warsaw was rebuilt completely after the War. It looks today exactly as it did in 1939 before the Germans destroyed it. There are photos of the absolute destruction that followed the invasion, which of course are very moving. In a twist, a Pole told me that the stone for the rebuild came from another town a few miles away which was torn down specifically to provide Warsaw with re-building materials - not sure of the accurateness of this last point though.

It is munich. The facades on one side must remain in the original style that the original building was concieved as. The back may be built in the style of the time. Some of the rebuilding has only recently been completed such as the old peters church in the city centre. The city was so badly destroyed during the war that the authority thought of relocating it to lake starnberg, 40km south west.

Hamburg
