If suffering in life is 'human nature', then what would happen if
humans were to be stripped of their beliefs, their knowledge, their identity, their personality, their desires, their sufferings, their morals, their experiences, their achievements and their material belongings... what would we be?

Still human beings?

Or are we just pure consciousness deep down inside hidden away by many, many layers of impressions collected from society and past lives?

I am personally sickened by 'Shrubs" approach to foreign policy. It is unbelievably sad that his arrival as PM has marked Canada as an on going target in this "war". His callous comments about the Israel and Lebanon conflict, in my opinion, precipitated a double digit death toll of Canadian soldiers since. With world awareness reflected by the tag of "The worst president ever", I find Shrubs compulsion to jump in bed with the USA at this juncture to be one of the biggest mistakes our country has ever made. Furthermore, I do not believe his foreign policies reflect the average Canadian's beliefs one iota. The man scares me, from his gestapo approach to his own cabinet ministers(gag orders), to beefing up our military to fight a 'war' that has nothing to do with us. Come on Big Red, get it together and pick a party leader so that Canada can be saved from Bush's little shrub!

My parents have put up with so much crap from me & helped me with raising my oldest son. I just think that their going to be disapointed in me again. I am 30 years old now but they've been dealing with this addiction problem of mine since I was 13 & the heroin problem specifically for over 8 years now. All though I finally feel as though I'm getting my life in order I'm afraid that they just won't understand & they'll look @ it as if I'm still using. What do you think is the best way to tell them any ideas? My husband & I are moving in with my Grandmother to help her & she lives very close to my parents so I'm afraid that their going to find out, cause I go to the clinic every morning so I thought that it would be better that they hear it from me then someone else.

My daughter is 9 and she is a good kid when she wants to be. But lately its like she is testing the limits of my patience. I punish her bad behavior by taking away privileges but it doesn't seem to phase her much. She is goofing off in school, not doing her homework, she's a slob and won't pick up after herself, she picks fights with her brother and then when he fights back--which I do not condone--she cries like a 2yr old. She talks back, zones me out, and just seems pretty much scatterbrained most of the time. She was diagnosed with ADHD in kindergarten and was on Concerta for 3 years. I took her off the meds becasue it seemed as if it made her behavior worse and her grades started slipping again. Not to mention she wasn't eating very well and didn't grow much in two years.
Any ideas/suggestions on how to deal with her behavior? Is it something I am doing wrong? I'm frustrated and at the end of my rope!

I am doing a paper for a linguistics class and would like to know your opinion on this topic. Should America claim English as its official language or maybe "American English" can become an altogether different distinct language that we can claim. Your thoughts?

Both shows are just amazing and good. The caracters are chosen prefectly to fit everyday people (mainly in Rescue me).
Nip and Tuck portraits the rich and the crazy...but still, it is the best TV series ever shown on FX23.

Again we had a major overpass collapse sending tons of cement to the cars underneath. 5 people were instantly crushed to death under the rubble and those that were driving on it when it fell are alive but in serious condition. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061001/ap_on_re_ca/canada_overpass_collapse_12;_ylt=A0geunLK2yNF3k4A9Cr2FAx

When they finally cleared the rubble away after 5+ hours, they found the vans; the height of them was from the ground to your knee, compressed to that size with once living people inside. Their insides must have exploded with the impact. The scenes are quite unnerving

Cars continued to drive but fly off because they weren't paying attention.

Do you TRUELY grasp the concept that your life could be over like that?
