I think it is possible, given the near-perfect vacuum of space. I think space engineers should start by trying to fire a golfball-sized probe towards Proxima Centauri, at about 99% of the speed of light. Maybe it'll take a century or two before engineers are able to achieve this sort of speed. Near-light-speed travel is very interesting and inviting because the crew wouldn't age (much) during the journey. Non-physicists sometimes make statements like, "even at the speed of light, it would take 4 years to reach Alpha Centauri," but, in fact, this is completely wrong. The journey time can be as short as you like, given a speed near enough to 299792.458 km per second. (Light takes about a twentieth of a second to cross the diameter of Earth. The Voyager 1 spacecraft would take 13 minutes. A craft ten times faster than Voyager would take about 1 minute. A craft ten times faster than this would take about 8 seconds. A craft ten times faster than this...)

my daughter has been given lactulose as she had an operation last week and they r trying to rule out constipation as a result of very bad stomach pains (she had an appendotomy), she had an enema last nite with no result . they have said if nothing happens she may need a scan to check her bowel ,does any 1 know how long lactulose takes to actually do something if its going to .

i was playing the PS2 NASCAR 2005 Chase For The Cup. i chose the Martinsville Raceway track. (i took off the cautions option). i mistakenly ran into a few cars. i kept driving, and when i got around, there was still a huge pileup. this was the smallest track i've seen.
how big is this Track? have any of you been there?

Perhaps that's just what the US government wants us to believe. It would justify not negotiating or talking. These leaders are not amenable to reason, therefore the US must skip that step and invade, bomb or use covert means to overthrow their regimes. If they are all crazy, how can they manage to hang on to power?

I went to the pub on the weekend for a few beers and it was horrible. Iv coped quite well with not smoking but this was the first time I'd drank since I quit and I didn't enjoy my night and felt really subdued. People kept asking if I was ok because I was quiet and didn't seem myself at all. Its my birthday in a few weeks and I want to have a few beers (well...quite a few actually) and have a good time, but to be honest I'm not looking forward to it after my experience on the weekend. Is there ANYTHING I can do to surpress my cravings when I drink?

most pro-illegals refer to the minutemen as the KKK...that is tottaly arrogant....what about La Raza and Mecha which clearly preach racial hatred and division?

I recently have taken on a lot of stress, I am 22 years old. On top of my full-time job in the insurance industry that is very stressful, I am going to college full-time taking 4 classes as well. In the past two weeks I have had 4 to what I believe are anxiety attacks. This runs in my family but not really sure if that is what it is. I just feel angry and mad at the world, I feel depressed, like everyone hates me and I hate everyone, and I cry hard, to the point where it's hard to catch my breath. It takes a lot to make me cry as well. These "attacks" seem to last for about 30 minutes. I have to try and calm myself down as well. I feel fidgety all the time just recently too. Normally, I am a calm person, handles stress very well. I go months without crying, and nothing really bothers me. Depression and anxiety runs in my family. Help..suggestions please!!

From what I can tell, someone catches the fox, they put it in a cage, then blokes in red jackets let it go, chase it on horses, and their dogs kill it. Is this supposed to keep fox numbers down? Why not just kill the fox when you catch it in the first place?
