It's not done to keep numbers down, because they've had to start building breeding holes for the foxes.
It's 'traditional'. And stupid. And cruel. And generally not a nice thing. Yes foxes have to be killed, but that doesn't mean people have to take enjoyment out of the torment, torture, and death of a creature.

Fox hunting is the noble sport of. Dum dum dum, hunting foxes. What happens is the hunting party will guide the dogs to the foxes and then the dogs will quickly bite the fox on the neck killing it.
This is pest control as many farmers have a problem with foxes eating their livestock. It is also a british tradition and was put high in a poll of things people see as part of the potrait of britain. See more at www.fighttheband.com and www.supportfoxhunting.com

It's some bizarre idea of "sport."
I've never ever understood the need to torture an animal like that. I am not a vegetarian, but I believe that any "sport" that is done for the sheer "pleasure" of killing an animal is barbaric. Like fox hunting and bull "fighting."
Is it wrong to root for the bull and hope the fox has rabies and bites every single hunter? Well, sometimes being wrong is right, I guess.

fox hunting is now illegal in the uk.
but yes ,they chase the fox on horses followed by dozens of dogs which will find the fox, tear her to bits and that's your trophy...also as a tradition, once the fox is dead, the men that took part in the hunt, will soak their hands with the blood of the fox, and put it on their children faces...if that doesn't f**k u up as a kid i don't know what will.
if you come to london, you will be surprised to see so many foxes roam our streets.
remember the saying, clever as a fox!

it's disgusting just because something is traditional doesn't make it right.
Unfortunately the ban in Britain has not worked and foxes are still dying in distress.

It's a 'sport' (I think not) for upper classes who don't think that the law applies to them. It's not to control foxes and it's not humane. It's arrogant and pompous.
