Is it obligatory in your country? How long is the period?

In Turkey it is obligatory and every 20 y/o Turkish guys have to spend 15 months for the military service. If u r graduted from a university and u r lucky, u can spend 6 months.

I finished (Allah'a şükür) this obligatory service in 1999 by giving my 15 worthy months and i m still sad about its being obligatory.

My fiancee lost his job. We have had alot of "speed bumps" in our lives during the past year. but come on it has been a year since he had steady employment... Now he is convinced his trouble with employment is the result of ADHD. (He has self diagnosed by taking an evaluation online) How do I bring him back to reality without being a B**** or making it seem like I'm telling him what to do.

Men help me out here, I must be missing something.... wouldn't it hurt your pride to stay at home while your woman worked. Wouldn't you be motivated to get a job so you could have some $$$s? What is wrong with my man and how can I help him fix it?

Me and my ex broke up a year and a half ago when I moved to college because he could not handle the long distance. We havve continued to stay friends and both still have strong emotions for each other. He just said we are both living seperate lives and it was too hard for him. He calls me about every two weeks and we see each other now and then. This has been going on for a year and a half now and I realized recently that it needs to stop because its holding me back from other relationships. He tells me he likes to talk to me, I still mean a lot to him....etc. So I decided that I wouldn't answer his calls and he kept on calling and calling.
