I get 108.

At the first meeting there are four members.

At the second meeting you have 12 people.
(The four existing members plus two new members each (2x4=8). 4+8=12

At the third meeting you have 36 people.
(The 12 existing members plus two new members each (2x12=24). 12+24=36

At the fourth meeting you have 108 people.
(The 36 existing members plus two new members each (2x36=72). 36+72=108

They become 3 times more at each meeting.

I think the "Start" situation is not the first meeting. It is not possible that a meeting has 4 people with the rules (if 2 people come to meet and bring 2 newer ones, they would be 6 already). Thus the "Start" is not a meeting.

Start: 4 people. It's not a meeting.

Meeting 1: 8 new, they are 12.
Meeting 2: 24 new, they are 36
Meeting 3: 72 new, they are 108
Meeting 4: 216 new, they are 324.

You are saying 4+8+16+32=60. But don't the four members bring 2 new people to the first meeting? Then it would be 12+16+32+64=124. But it's more than that anyway.

The correct answer is 324.

1st meeting = 12 people (4 old and 8 new)
2nd meeting = 36 people (12 old and 24 new)
3rd meeting = 108 people( 36 old and 72 new)
4th meeting = 324 people (108 old and 216 new)

1) 4 people

2) 4 + (2*4)= 12

3) 12 + (2*12)= 36

4) 36 + (2*36)= 108

I got 60 also.
4 people at the first meeting. They bring 8 people to the second: 12 total.
Those 8 bring 16 to the third: 28 total.
Those people bring 32 to the fourth: 60 total.

1st meeting = 4 people
2nd meeting = 4 + 2(4) = 12
3rd meeting = 12 + 2(12) = 36
4th meeting = 36 + 2(36) = 108
