Where is the line drawn between acting friendly and flirting? And since when did laughing at jokes and having a sense of humor count as flirting?

Please help. My friends say that I "string along" guys. I myself have also noticed that most of my male companions have thought that I had a crush on them, and so tried to "date" me when we first met. It's really awkward to be so misunderstood. I just want some normal guy friends who I can joke with and confide in, as I do with my female friends; is this too much to ask? I'm asking this now because I have just moved to a new area recently, and I don't want to keep repeating the same mistake (though it may be already too late to avoid...).

And meanwhile, while we're on the subject, how do you tell someone that you just want to be friends in a nice and non-awkward way?

I am completely over him but we stay in contact and he want to stay in contact... I dont but he does he saays i am messed up if I dont have him on my myspace or if i dont consider him a friend... well i feel like hes not because we dont hang out... and plus he is the reason we broke up he never spent time w/ mah. Well staying in contact makes me still like him and when hes out of sight hes out of mind.

I tried breaking up with my boyfriend since I recognized the things hes chosen over me.Our relationship went bad.And yes I am pregnant.But he wants a break only.I want to get away from him as far as I can.Because a break will only make me cry and think about him 24/7.But he says we will miss each other and he need his space.But hes always at work we only see each other 3 times a week which is wed,fri,and sundays!Thos days are only 3 to 4 hours a day and we will have sex that long straight 3 hours.It feels like a routine so he gets his space a lot and I am starting to think hes not the right guy for me.And only keeping me for sex.& by the way I hate his friends, there was a time that they cussed me out or disrespect me and he laughs with them but when I tell him I dont like them he says I am too controlling and he wants to party,smoke,drink, and have fun with his friends.I know we dont have fun anymore at all.He says I ***** a lot but has he ever wonder why I feel this way.

So many question come to this site with whining parents about drug addicted, sexually active, defiant children. I am only in my 30's, but I think that today's parents have become snivelling weaklings. I do not let my children walk over over me...they do not talk back, curse, have sex, do drugs, or disrespect anyone in any way. Have parents lost control in today's societies? What are YOU doing as a parent to gain this lost control? Or are you all in fear of being condoned as a child abuser?

A man was driving through west Texas one evening. The road was deserted and he had not seen a soul for hours. Suddenly his car started to cough and the engine died, leaving him sitting on the side of the road in total isolation. He popped the hood and looked to see if there was anything that he could do to get it going again. As he stood looking at the gradually fading light of his flashlight, he cursed that he had not put in new batteries.

Suddenly, through the inky shadows, came a deep voice: "It's your fuel pump."

"Who said that?" the man called out.

There were two horses, a white one and a black one, standing in the fenced field alongside the road. The man was amazed when the white horse repeated, "It's your fuel pump. Tap it with your flashlight and try it again."

Confused, the man tapped the fuel pump with his flash light, turned the key and sure enough, the engine roared to life. He muttered a short thanks to the horse and screeched away.

When he reached the next town, he ran into the local bar. "Gimme a large whiskey, please!" he said.

A rancher sitting at the bar looked at the man's ashen face and asked, "What's wrong, man? You look like you've seen a ghost."

"It's unbelievable," the man said and recalled the whole tale to the rancher.

The rancher took a sip of his beer and looked thoughtful. "A horse, you say? Was it by any chance a white horse?"

"Yes, it was!" the man said, finally happy someone understood. "Am I crazy?"

"No, you ain't crazy. In fact, you're lucky," said the rancher, "because that black horse don't know nothin' about cars."
