I just wondering what would happen if every1 dropped their religous beliefs and tried to believe that, while they can make guesses, it is impossible to KNOW what happens after life. That doesn't inlucde the people who have had..um...'religous experiences'..but perhaps those people with the..*er erm*..religous experiences should consider what they are really fighting for? Religion causes a lot of violence in the world today and while religion seems like a good idea for coping with life when u support ur religous *er erm* findings with violence you contribute to make this world a shi*&tier place to live. I am a christian but now I am suddenly going to stop supporting my belief as a fact. so who's ready to say good-bye to religion? Lets stop worrying about what happen's after death and start worrying about what happens during. I'm sure jesus will buy us all a round of beers when we get to heaven if were wrong, but still help eleminate violence in the world.

It would be called Existential Pragmatism. Definitions: Existential...based on experience; empirical. Pragmatism: a doctrine that the meaning of an idea or proposition lies in its observable practical consequences. No ideologies...just practicality.

According to the Bible, God has revealed Himself to several people throughout history. If that is the case, why hasn't He revealed himself to scientists today to prove his own existence? Why hasn't He left any scientific evidence to support His existence? Or what's even more puzzling to me...Why has He left scientific evidence leading toward DISproving His existence?

Alright so about a year ago i decided to be a healthier person in general, started running, lifting, stretching and tried not to party so hard, and stopped smoking so much. Well I am way healthier and can run a good 8 miles in about an hour and a half, from 1 mile in 20 min. So what i was wondering was im still a big guy in general im 6'3 210 but in good shape, i was just wonderin why i havent become "skinny" is it just my body type or what i dont care if i am or not i was just wondering if there was something i could do about it my friends say im just a football type build. yeah some answer would be nice and trust me im not self concious im just curious.

It looked like something was bugging my sister, and not just that she couldn't run because of her shin splints. So I looked in this journal that I saw she was always writing in.

I was astonded when I saw what she had written. "I feel awful. I want to die. Today I ran/swam but my legs still hurt. I will to anything I just want to die. I am going to cut myself tonight."

Then I stopped. I counldn't bear to read any more about my own sister's horrible thoughts. And this isn't really the first time. She practically just "recovered" from anarexia.

I am lost and confused, you are the first people to know what I've read. I have no idea what to do and was hoping someone would have some ideas with value.

We are on Meetup.com and maybe we will later make a Yahoo site, but what are ways to actully get Posters and stuff out in the real world so people can see it?

I'm about to go put posters up at the Library, but I don't think the big book stores will let us advertise. We meet at a coffeehouse right now. Hopefully I can get them to start meeting at Books-a-million. (I haven't actually gone to a meeting yet. I'm in a lot of other local groups so those poor book group people don't know what they're in for with me around.)

Promoting local groups are always so hard. Nobody will let you put pictures up.

I know there's citacity and myspace too, but they just don't work.

Any clever ideas?

As an experienced skier I feel daft asking this but I'm going skiing on the glacier in Tignes next week and I'm not sure what temperature/conditions to expect. I presume that as with Winter Skiing, conditions can change but what are the range of temperatures I can expect? Should I expect to wear full ski gear most of the time and sometimes tie my jacket round my waist - or should I expect to see most people in t-shirts ? Thanks
