We are on Meetup.com and maybe we will later make a Yahoo site, but what are ways to actully get Posters and stuff out in the real world so people can see it?

I'm about to go put posters up at the Library, but I don't think the big book stores will let us advertise. We meet at a coffeehouse right now. Hopefully I can get them to start meeting at Books-a-million. (I haven't actually gone to a meeting yet. I'm in a lot of other local groups so those poor book group people don't know what they're in for with me around.)

Promoting local groups are always so hard. Nobody will let you put pictures up.

I know there's citacity and myspace too, but they just don't work.

Any clever ideas?

this might sound sterotypically, but I've found it to hold true to my own friends... if its for sci-fi consider hanging posters in comic and hobby shops as well as libraries and coffee house. Also, if there are any local schools (college or high, i dunno how old you are looking for) hang them there or see if they already have a club.

Try bulletins at grocery stores and stuff. Put like 3 of them up though because they tend to get covered up.

My friend was advertising his business once and just passed out fliers, to everyone, even if they were like 3 years old.
