I have high-expeting, emotional& some physical abusing parents, who I'm NEVER good enough for. And 2 years ago, I got REALLY depressed, because of them& I even tried to commit suicide. But that was 2 years ago. My depression eneded... BUT, at sometime on a day (mostly nights- about 3 times a week) I just somehow think about the times when my parents really hurted me (like a month ago, my dad said to leave his house, because I was too much trouble), and I just start crying, and think about suicide and stuff... It's like I have depression, but it goes away in about 2 to 5 hours, and then I'm normal again... I have NO idea WHY this happens, and HOW can I STOP it? I mean, I KNOW my parents are still like that, (as they were 2 years ago), and I do get hurt from them (still), but why can't I just get over what they did, and NOT have these super-short depression (if it is- I don't kno...) Can someone tell me what's wrong w/ me??? Thanks guys...

Atheists say they want to be left alone and not forced or talked into anyone elses religion. It looks like on this site it is mostly atheists that are asking argumentative and inflammatory questions meant to persuade or demean those with any beliefs that are different than theirs. Isn't this exactly why atheists get mad at non-atheists. I'm extremely religious but I never discuss my religion with others unless they initiate the conversation. And only then if they seem completely comfortable talking about it. But atheists want to insult and demean me. I don't get it. Why can't we all just respect eachother's beliefs even if you think the other person is wrong?
PS. I know there are a lot of religious people who are also this way and I don't defend that. I think it's wrong. I just wish we could stop being so hateful toward eachother.

My parents tried to have me placed in one when I was 16, right after I told them I was gay.

Did not work ;-), but I did get a counsellor that tried to "fix" me. I am 18 now...

i am always hungry and i eat around the clock. it seems that after i eat a meal maybe 30 minutes to an hour later i am still hungry. i do eat full meals and i do not have an eating disoder but it seems like i feel like i do not have any energy even though i just ate a meal an hour ago. i dont have diabetes. i am always tired, hungry, and my nerves are always all over the place.

My cats are Zel (six years), Hikaru (four years), Pixie (three years), and Duo (one year). All of my cats are fixed, and all of them except Zel are overweight. It took me a long time to get Zel to a proper weight (he was a rescue). Hika and Duo are not horribly over weight, but Pixie doubled in size after she was spayed. They are eating from a community bowl with no regular meal time. Any advice on what I can do to help bring down my cats weight without Zel losing what he has? Thank you.

I am 20 weeks Pregnant and had my first ultrasound done Monday, I am low on my Amotic fluids, and my doctor wants me to drink more water(dunno how I can, thats all I drink and so much of it everyday) and she also told me to eat every 2 hours.... I get tired of eating all the healthy things like fruits and veggies all the time, and now eating every 2 hours, I dunno what all to eat, any suggestions on good healthy snacks ???

I LOVE THE UNITED STATES AND I LOVE BEING AN AMERICAN. There are a lot of you from other countries that seem to bash us a lot lately. Bush IS a good man who gets bad press in the US and overseas. Most of our journalists are liberal and he gets a bad rap.
We are a good and caring nation and we always help the rest of you when needed.

I guess the question alone makes sense, but just in case:

A plane can fly 500 mph in no wind, and the air flows over the wings, creating lower air pressure above the plane, therefore pulling the plane upwards.

It should make sense that if the wind is 500mph, then a plane could be able to not move at all, for the wind would again flow over the wings, and suck the plane upwards.

What gives?

My mother's house needed fairly major roof repair. She is a senior. A contractor offered to fix the roof, and stated she would be able to make monthly payments. Contractor provided my mom with the forms to obtain financing to have the work done (as an unsecured loan). We checked with the BBB, and they checked out okay. Both my brother and I looked over the contract, and everything looked fine. The contract also stated no payments for 6 months. So, she filled out the bank form and signed the contract. Now, almost 3 weeks later, the job is like 95% done, and we get a call from the contractor's head office advising us that the financing was not approved. So now what?? My mother could get a mortgage through her own bank...but it seems unethical for the contractor to have started the work when the financing wasn't even approved. It was the contractor that suggested the financing, and who provided and submitted the credit app. Had we known sooner, we could have canceled the contract
