I LOVE THE UNITED STATES AND I LOVE BEING AN AMERICAN. There are a lot of you from other countries that seem to bash us a lot lately. Bush IS a good man who gets bad press in the US and overseas. Most of our journalists are liberal and he gets a bad rap.
We are a good and caring nation and we always help the rest of you when needed.
Please - if you are from another country - tell me what you LIKE about the US - we ARE likeable!

Arth - if the mayor should have seen that his city was evacuated but he did not. Also, the people of New Orleans have to take resposiblity for staying when it was reported on TV all the time to EVACUATE!
I love President Bush. He is a good honest man and he cares about the people in this country and all around the world. The people of Iraq do not want us to leave. We are still looking for Osama but while we look we thought we'd clean up another few messes along the way.
I hate war and would love for this to be over but we have to fight the terrorists over there so they do not come HERE again. Don't you libs get that?

Written by an Australian Dentist....and too good to delete....

To Kill an American

You probably missed it in the rush of news last week, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.

So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is . So they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!!!!)

"An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.

An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.

An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim.
In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.

An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.
The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.

An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.

When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!

As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan. Americans welcome the best of everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least.

The national symbol of America, The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America.

Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.

So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.

I am an American Citizen and Yes I agree Bush is a good man with a good heart, but he came into office during a tough time for the US and is depended on to help us clear up this mess in the Middle East and it isn't gonna be easy for him, that's why people are mad at him! I am Proud to be an American and I do NOT give a damn what any other country thinks about us because their opinions do not matter. I have lots and lots of countries I hate and there are Americans who hate there counrty so they cannot speak opinions either!

I am from the Philippines and I like the USA and admire President Bush. He came into the presidency in a very difficult time and had to make tough decisions. Sometimes people hate him for that but he has to live with his convictions. I believe that he made those tough decisions for the ultimate good of his country. I also admire the Americans in general because they accept people for what they are. They are relatively less biased and are known for their honesty and fairness in doing business. Some people may hate America and the Americans but much more love you. If you doubt it, try looking at the long lines of people applying for US Visa at all US embassies, or the ones who risk their lives in crossing the borders illegally.

The USA is a strange country. Many people from around the world want to come to America and live the American dream. Yet people and governments of many countries also hate the US and its actions. This is due to the contrast of the US government and the US citizens.

The US Citizens stand for freedom. They beleive in live and let live. The US government stands for tyranny. It beleives in live and let die.

The US citizens are tolerant. They respect everyones views and religious beliefs. The US government is intolerant. It cannot stand cirticism and uses sanctions and warplanes on those who do not agree with them.

The US citizens are compassionate. They fund and help people in distress all over the world. The US government is ruthlessly selfish and only interferes all over the world to seek their best interests.

These are the facts, straight and simple.

America is the best country in the world. There are people all over the world trying to come here! Why, because they heard we are a bad country? I doubt that very much. I say if you don't love it leave it! By the way why did u leave the UK?

I am from the UK but I live in the US. I like the US and what it stands for but it saddens me to see it hi-jacked by facist war mongers. These people are not a true reflection of real Americans who I meet every day. They are war mongering profiteers who care nothing for American values of liberty and justice. They have hijacked the media and seek to censor all dissent. I can tell you there are a lot of people in America who are horrified by the actions of this pack of demented opportunists who stole the election. The people of America are moving to take back the government, but you won't see it reported abroad. Bush is a puppet - what definition of good you have, oh questioner - does it cover someone who condones the bombing of civilians or stands by while his own countrymen die (new orleans) He is a deluded incompetent. But he is not a reflection of the true America.

Any news is good news... that is the point from the press.

I like America because it is the promise for the dreamer.
I like America because there is still you who cares about
America.
I like America because of the old books I read about the leaders of America, specially Washington and the First Congress Stories.
I like America because individuality is the main concern.
I like America because of the open minded liberties was
discussed.
I like America because I have been there and I see people as
they are and not of the leaders that they want
people to see them as they want to portray of who
they are.
I like America because of the "one man, one vote policy."
I like America because of their positive way in approaching to get
what they want.
I like America because Americans have saved our Nation for
three times already. With Commodore Dewey,
General McArthur and the freedom, the liberty, and
most of all the knowledge that they have
introduced.
I like America because their people loves to kick *ss but could
not kick theirs.
