I surprised a stray cat gazing at my cockatiels, now one of them seems sick...

The bird had to have been sick when you didn't notice it.

And the answer is NO THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE!

I doubt it very seriously. It may scare a bird but it couldn't kill it just by gazing at it.

Not sure, but a cat can move it's tail and hypnotize a snake, so probably so...good question.

say the bird had a bad heart or something...
