I know i pissed some people off with the title, but seriously though, think about it. The principle of Occam's Razor states that one should not make unnecesaary assumptions about things. If i see a phenomenon that i cannot explain, i hit the internet or the books to find an answer. If no one has an answer for me, then i realize that humanity has simply not advanced far enough to answer that question. I am happy with this explanation, and eagerly await the day when someone figures it out. I do not see an unexplained phenomenon and immediately think "This must be the work of some all-powerful, inconcievable being that i can never see or have any proof of!" That would be inventing unnecessary assumptions about the situation, would it not? Surely there must be a simpler explanation than that? I'd like to hear your real opinions, but i suppose i should prepare to be flamed like every other question in this category.

I was 31yrs & she is 27yrs, It was my 1st time to be in-love with my fiancee(she) but she told me once that, i am very "silent romantic" person, and she doesn't allow me the way i want to touch her.

Now i ended my relation with her, because she might bring hard/bad time to me or i/we could not be happy in future(if married) in term of my love/sex life and my professional/career life.

any help or suggestion on the above decission i made to end the relationship, because i was alone & really confused what to do??

I am a 50 Year old grandmother of 2. My youngest grandchild was placed under protection of Child Protective Services the day she was born because Mom tested positive for pot and was known to have used drugs early in Pregnancy. During most of my grandchild's life she has lived with me. But at 18 months, (she is now 19 mos), between my lawyer and her fathers lawyer, we worked it out so Dad has Primary Custody, I have Secondary Custody and Mom pays child support but can only see her child under my supervision.

She is living with a man accused of manslaughter. It was an accident but should not have happened. He is not allowed contact with the grandbaby. They both drink and are both unemployed. She see's little of her child by her own choice.

Here is the problem. She is pregnant again. I don't think I can do all this again. How do I handle it.

We go to war in the Falklands, WW1 and WWII and the US doesn't give a damn either at first or completely. The US decides to play soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, meanwhile being dangerously one-sidedly pally with Israel and we jump to it. They don't help us by repatriating IRA fugitives but we have to send them three blokes involved in Enron like a shot.
The special relationship just seems to be that Dubya is the lifer and Blair's his prison b*tch.

I have been lumbered into having lunch with my friends mum. The problem is that her family are quite well off, and enjoy living the high life. My family are comfortable and dont care about social ettiquete and stuff like that. but i really want to impress her mum, what is the procedure?
For example, should I bring a gift- and what?(she doesnt drink alcohol or eat chocs).
What type of conversations should I raise?
How might I appear charming?
Is there anything else that i need to know?
I am very comfortable within my own skin but like I said it is important that her mum leaves with a good impression of me, as she said she would invest some money into my partner's business.
I need this to go really well- please only serious answers only.
