Hizbullah, which is a militant group based in Lebannon, keep firing rockets into Israeli towns and harrassing their soldiers.

So the official reason quoted by Israel is that they want to "exterminate" Hizbullah's stash of rockets, and disable their organisation.

I am sure that there is more to it though. There always is.

Israel is not fighting Lebanon, they are fighting the terrorist organization Hezbollah, that operates in Lebanon until the Lebanese armed forces can get their sh*t together.

They are fighting because Hezbollah's charter requires that Israel be destroyed. To further that goal, they provoked Israel through cross-border kidnapping raids, and a missle-launching campaign of around 100 warheads a day.

What have you got against the Israelis defending themselves? What would you want/expect the US to do if al Qaeda setup shop in Tiijuana and started raining Qa'sem rockets on San Diego?

The same reason for all wars. Adults who cant resolve there differences any other way. They both think their moral, social family life is completely different and better than the other. They want land. They have been fighting for so long they cant back down because they think it will make them look like theyre admitting theyre wrong (they both are). Its pathetic. You see each side on tv and the reporter says "do you think its ok for your country to kill innocents in the other country" and all they can shout about is "they started it, theyre killing people here" both sides are completely self-centered . If I went to Italy and killed a random Italian, would that justify a Italian to come and kill a random Brit? Of course not.

terrorists dedicated to killing jews and driving them into the sea use lebanon as a base of operations to launch kidnappings, mirders, bombings, and rocket attacks into israel.

israel got sick and tired of waiting for the lebanese government to capture these terrorists, and has moved to protect itself. if lebanon would do the job of governing its people rather than the will of syria and iran, then there would be no war.

But just to satify the jew haters that will post here....obvioulsy the jews need to replinish the stocks of arab childs blood that they drink on passover.

How long until the world forgets about the holocoust? It already is, everyday. And that is a shame because it allows people that hate jews to flourish again.
