Why is it that so many non-smokers (or ex-smokers) can get so worked up about second hand smoke? Doesn't anyone else seem to have a problem with the factories, oil refineries, dump trucks, garbage trucks, cars without mufflers, etc. that belch out thick, black, noxious fumes and smoke all day, every day? It just seems to me that so many people get really uptight when it comes to second hand smoke. (Obviously, this doesn't apply to people who live with a smoker and are around it all the time.) I'm referring mainly to people who stay away from places which allow smoking...basically people who just walk by someone smoking outside and freak out about it/fan the air and fake cough, making an *** of themselves.
Really...how often are you in an enclosed space with a smoker (or smokers) with no ventilation for long periods of time? Probably not often. How often do you breathe the exhaust-tainted air outside? I would guess every day!
