when going 4 interview they like to ask question like: why do you think ur the right candidate for the post?

of course! they have right to ask any thing related to the job they are offering. and whyu have responded and come for the job. u can explain it, so what is the hitch?

They want you to "sell" yourself to them. Your answer will demonstrate a lot of things to your potential employer, such as, self confidence, ability to speak clearly and concisely, and any specific traits that would be an asset to them if they should choose to hire you. Good Luck!
