Having come from a generation where men treated women with respect, I like your question.
A Gentlemen TO ME is this:
The word.. A gentle man, not abrasive in speech or actions.
When that man is with a lady he still opens doors, seats her at a table, will walk to the outside of her when strolling down a street.
He will appreciate her ideas , even if the gentle man doesn't agree.
The woman he is with is enjoyed as his companion, a compliment to him.
When that man takes a woman out he cares about his grooming and appearance, not that he is vain.
A gentlemen has respect for himself, the lady , and a really old fashioned principal, respect for his mother .
