It does not seem to matter how educated one is we tend to be insensitive when it comes to others dying or suffering... we have mechanisms to justify our crimes and demonising others as though they deserve their fate.

Have you ever considered why we are so partisan? Please share your insights.

Earlier news reports stated that American citizens being evacuated from Lebanon would have to sign a promissory note to reimburse the government $300 for their evacuation or risk having the use of their passport curtailed until they do pay. Later, CNN said the fees have been waived (though I haven't see this one yet).

FOX News reported that this is the fault of the democrats passing a bill awhile back requiring reimbursement for anyone evacuated from another country. Is this true? I'm searching the web for info on the original bill from the democrats, but it sure seems more like
something the republicans would do.

ANyone have any info on this? Links for verification? Thanks!

Or is that asking for trouble. I'm not married, but I was talking with my mother about taking a Reformation Tour later in life, without my spouse if I ever get married. The trip is more of a time of reflection and I want to be left alone during that time. She said I'm being selfish and I'm going to hurt his feelings. Am I? I figure I am an adult that has a mind and interests of my own, but I also don't want to go around hurting people's feelings.

I just dated this incredible girl and we had nothing but an awesome time together. She used to date this guy (who was also her first boyfriend) who was controlling and verbally abusive. Everytime they broke up he said he was sorry and that things would be different this time (yeah right). They broke up about 3-4 times over. Her friends and parents hate him. She always used to tell me about how she could never be friends with him again (unlike me) and how she hated so many things about him. Now we've broken up and they're friends, however she isn't dating him nor really hanging out with him that much. She's basically shut me out of her life, although she really wanted to be friends and still hang out. I still get the feeling she really misses me (she has to!).

So now what? Move on yes, but should I leave her alone & let her come to me? Should I try to be friends? I think confessing my feelings will only drive her off...wouldn't it?

My gf of 5 yrs has always referred to this guy as her friend when talking to me. She has gone and spent the whole day with him, which I didn't protest, even though I didn't like it. She has also let him spend the night at her place when she said he called and needed a place to crash after drinking too much. Thru recent conversation w/her I found out that this guy is actually her ex-boyfriend. Am I wrong to feel betrayed? She also lied and said she broke up with him, and the opposite is true, which makes me think that she may still have feelings for him. Cell phone records also show that she lied about him calling her that night, she actually called him after spending over an hour on the phone with me and saying she was tired and going to bed. She swears nothing physical, or anything inappropriate happened and that she didn't tell me bcuz I would get upset. What is the truth here??? One last thing, she also told me that he proposed to her that evening in his drunken stupor..?

I just bought the Vastech 80mm UV Reactive UV LED Fan. It came with screws and a 4 pin molex power adapter. I already have a fan on my computer right now, but I want to add this additional one. Had torn legaments/muscles repaired 3 weeks ago. I forget if it's a button or a pin that I have, but how do the docs remove it? I mean when the time comes it'll be 6-8 wekks i had it,wont my insides grow on it and then pull when it comes out?Does it hurt?And does anyone know how long to regain full use of my hand/arm? It's the hand I write with/do everything with and this cast is getting old.I have a 3 yr old son and my fiance works 60-70 hrs a week second shift so I'm on my own, it's hard, any pointers? I still cant use my fingers,swollen and sore. Thanks everyone for your time!!!Appreciate it!!! p.s. sry if it dont make sense,been up for 48 hrs... :)

I'd like to meet my friend right after he clears Customs. Since there could be a lot of people arriving at the same time, I want to make sure that we can easily find each other. Normally I meet friends at Baggage Claim, but I believe he will retrieve his bags *before* he clears Customs. Thanks!
