It was a new news update I just got. Aren’t yall outraged too?

They have this new technology, I think it’s called ‘Blue Ray Disks’ if I remember correctly.

No I'm actually talking about DVDs and CDs that you can only use in one system and one system ONLY, at first their PR person said it would hurt their biz and they told the public they we're going through with it, but now they've flip flopped and are now sayin' they are gonna do it! WTF?! Ok fine, (bootlegging/Pirating) but what about all the small bisunesses who thrive on USED games or Rental Places. Sony publicly said they do not want they're games "being rented" to play. WTF?!?! Talk about Corprate EGO! And we all know how games get played out, and if we can't resale them or trade them then they will end up going to the dump thus E-Waste! I am outraged at Sony (again)!

What the report says is that Sony has patented technology that registers a game disk to the console it's first inserted in. This would prevent the game from being played on another console. Right now Sony has only explored the idea, meaning they are thinking about it. What the end result would be is you are stuck with the game and couldn't sell it, destroying the used game market for the PS3 as well as killing the rental market for the PS3. Since these types of markets make up a large segment of users, it would be near market suicide to use it without a way to undo it.

Who gives a #$@! about Sony. Their PS3 has slow graphics ( Power point like) and their games aren't as good as the Wii and Xbox 360! The Xbox 360 has Way better Graphics and Power. Even if the Wii doesn't have the best graphics, it has the best adventure game play. Go Wii ( and my all time favorite)
XBOX 360!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s The PS3 controllers don't even have vibration and their prices are crazy!!
Their starting to be a discrace to Video Gaming.

Its all about stopping the bootlegging of downloaded games.

E-waste? You mean a few extra bits transmitted down the wires? Something tells me you are not as concerned about E-Ecology as your personal E-Economy. It's far too easy to justify being a E-thief.

Just buy the games on CD/DVD media and you can resell if you wish.

I've heard this report too and from what I can gather it's only the downloadable games you won't be able to share/trade but disks will be fine. I'll stick to my pc for games :)
