For those living in a democracy, isn't it supposed to be us who tell them what we want, not the other way around? So could we overturn the DCMA and regain the right to make backup copies and convert encrypted files into different formats if we want to?

i have to boys and im a seperated mum who is on her own with no family around and i really do mean alone. and trying to cope with being alone when my kids go see there dad. and having bipolar is very hard for me at the moment. i have had it a few years now. but when im on a downer its so hard and i would like to hear from others that are going threw the same thing. and if they have any good tips to help me threw the babd times... plzzz

Five years later he said he would marry WHEN he retires. By then I was in love, committed, and invested emotionally, and financially.
I worked 20 years FOR US, he worked 20 years FOR HIM. (He never contributed to my support). Twenty years later we are retired and unmarried.
Because of the nature of my work, I am not entitled to social security, therefore instead of being comfortable I need to be concerned whether my savings will last as long as I do.
I would get a spouse's share of Social Security if we married without it costing him a cent and we could enjoy the fruits of OUR labor knowing that when we are really old, even if our savings was gone, OUR Social Security would be enough to be comfortable.
He frankly lied, feigning not remembering that he said that he would marry.
If we parted company because of his deceit would he owe me morally? Legally? ,,,Because of his lies, after a hard life I feel robbed of the bright future that I looked forward to.

Hey please suggest some alternate way of doing a stomach crunch apart from the one with hands behind head or crossed across the chest... i find it difficult to lift the upper torso. If i take support with my elbows to lift the upper part would it qualify as a crunch????...

it means to be saved. How come people dispute each other in what it means to be saved? I know people who are not Christian, and have never been saved as such, but lead a good, long and healthy and prosperous life, without even knowing what it means to be saved. These people started out with very little, but today they are well respected, relatively wealthy, charity-bound, and not really materialistic people even though they have money (I guess how they use their money is what matters). They definately have committed sins (depends on your idea of sin I suppose), yet they die happily and with dignity. Yet they have never heard of what it means to be saved. So I wonder, really, what it means to be saved and why it seems to apply to some and not to others (I am talking of Christians and non-Christians). Pls dont mistake my questions, I ask to understand only.

Why do people keep asking such nasty questions about Indians? Do they not understand that if they know one Indian who has flaws, it does not mean all Indians are like that?
Why do some people think they are the center of the world?

I had a Discover card back in 1997 in New Jersey, it eventually was charged off in Feb of 2001. The account was transferred or bought by Camelba Investments, LLC (whom I can find no information on). My husband is active duty Army and we move alot...a couple of years ago we were in Alabama I received some letters from a law firm asking for settlements and threatening to sue. I always ignored them and nothing happened. We live in Texas now and I just got a letter from another law firm stating that if I don't respond in 10 days they will recommend to the client that they file suit and to seek court fees, attorney fees and interest in addition to the $3268. that I owe. He ends by saying that I will not receive anymore demands from the office.

My questions are this: This collection agency is not on my credit report, Discover is. I checked two of my credit reports online today (have to get the third my mail) one says that my last date reported was July 03, and the chart they have says that i paid as agreed till then, however I stopped paying it earlier then that...my best guess is beginning of 2002. Are they trying to pull a fast one to keep this account current? The other report says that it was charged off from Feb 2001 to July 2002 and that July 02 was the last date reported.

My husband is in the Army we have one income and I can't afford to add this to my list of current debts. But I also don't want to be sued. What should I do? Do you think they will sue me? Or they would have done that in AL? Should I contact Discover card to see when my last payment was?
