I understand that excessive sleep can be a symptom of mental problems, but can a person become addicted to sleep? People can be addicted to other activities (being online, working out, shopping) and it is considered an addiction. It disrupts life, isolates fr. family/friends, crave it all the time, deny it to others, etc. just like other additions, yet it is just referrred to as a 'symptom' of depression, or of drinking too much, or taking downers...etc. If a person sleeps all the time, WANTS to sleep all the time, etc. can't it be something other than a symptom?
