最近在寫英文鬼故事，為了讓同組的隊員可以唸得比較輕鬆，得把一些難字改的簡單一點。故事裡有一個單字是memorial day，雖然在故事表達的是忌日，可是我查字典之後，發現這個字的意思是陣亡將士的紀念日，不知道這樣會不會影響到故事？
在yahoo字典裡查的忌日是deathday，可是因為我家的音響壞掉了，用電子辭典查發音的時候，卻查不到這個字。！請問deathday真的是忌日的意思嗎？還是忌日是別的字呢？

敝人住台中清水，曾經在北部唸書過工作過，我的台語與多數的人不是一樣，鵝、魚、豬、龍....與一般現行的說法不同。
有些南部的朋友還說我的台語不正確，要求我跟他們說話要說國語（當然，他們的國語實是好笑）。為了這個問題我問過許多我自己朋友的意見，他們都遭過相同的麻煩，很多朋友也都是在外地不講台語，甚至說幾乎忘記台語如何說？？
敝人也曾經查閱相關資料，海口腔屬泉州腔（顏清標的腔）而目前台灣所講的多為璋州腔（阿扁的腔），語言與腔調並無好與壞，只有所謂的地區問題，而且我們海線人並非二級公民，看不起海線的人如同過去某些人看不起台灣人那是有問題的。
敝人過去在台灣大學唸書，有許多馬來西亞、新加坡、印尼...南洋的同學，他們的福建話與我們泉州腔類似，而每當他們比此間在用福建聊天時，我的南部同學都當他們是異類，甚至說他們講的是火星語，當我說你們有歧視意見時，南部人又說你跟他們一樣說的台語怪怪的，直到我跟他們用國語溝通時，南部人反而會尊重我們。只因為我們的國語比南部同學標準，ㄓ、ㄗ、ㄕ、ㄙ...我們反而講得很清楚。
最後我想說的還是一樣，語言與腔調並無高低貴賤，只是代表當地語言爾以，如果你聽不懂海口腔，請你再問你的朋友一次他所說是什麼？不要再私底下竊竊私語，這種行為實是可笑！
