"腳步" 可以用[step]或[footprint], 但是[step]也有"步驟"/"程序"的意思, 所以個人偏向選用[footprint]
"前人": 可以用[predecessor]或[forerunner]. [ancestor]當然也行, 但總覺得"太古老"了些. ^_^
"我們只是在遵循前人的腳步"照翻就是:
We are just following the footprints of our forerunners.
不過如果您要用在標語中, 應該愈短愈好, 可以這麼寫:
Merely are we footprint followers.
1. 這是倒裝句, 原來是:
We are merely footprint followers.
2. 其實"前人"是不說自明的, 難道會遵循"後人的腳步"嗎? 所以用[footprint followers]就足以完全表達.
