My husband and I are Bears fans and my sister and her husband are raiders fans. We have tickets to the Raiders vs bears game sun 11th. My husband and I will head up the coast friday morning. My sister and her husband will fly and meet us in san jose that evening. What is there to do for 2 nights between san jose and oakland?

I am planning to reach Oakland, CA at 8:30 AM ( 2040 Telegraph Ave Oakland, CA 94612) from San Jose It is 42 miles and will need to take 880 North.

Is advisable to drive to Oakland in the morning traffic? Also location seems in downtown if I drive is there parking available nearby?
- OR -
Is BART the better option? How far is it from BART station from this loc? what is the station name where I should get down?

Any info is appreciated.

My wife and I live in Fort Myers, FL and hate it. We have been to San Jose a few times and liked it very much. We are curious about the job market and what is it like to live in San Jose. We have read many postings about how high the cost of living is but have also heard that you have the opportunity to make a lot of money to compensate for it. Why does San Jose have it's own section when it's part of the SF Bay Area and questions could just be as easily asked under SF as here. And look, there are hardly any questions in here b/c they are all asked in SF, even questions about the San Jose area. Why don't they have an Orange County section too? Or a New Jersey section? Baltimore? All those places have way more people than San Jose but they don't get their own category. Do you think Yahoo is just biased b/c it's located near there? It just doesn't make sense there would be a San Jose category considering all the other metro areas missing on here like Minneapolis, Tampa, ect...

Something in that general area, clean, easy to get too, fun to cavort in the water without getting covered in seaweed or worry about jellyfish. If there's one thats protected from most of the wind, so much the better.

We've been to Natural Bridges and Seacliff. Seacliff wasn't too bad. Hated the climb and long walk to the surf at Manresa.

The beach at the boardwalk is OK, but I hate that pond of toxic waste that runs down the middle. Don't like the pond in the middle of Capitola either.

What's your favorite?

We'll only be there one night and are looking for something somewhat affordable, modern and clean. A beach view would be great, but isn't a deal breaker. Thanks!!

Hi,
I have moved to the bay area from the east coast to work in Santa Clara.
My wife has found a job in the financial district in SF and she will be joining me in June. My wife's office is a walking distance from Embarcadero bart station and she plans to take the train to work.

We have one car and I can drive to work or take the train. My office is next to lawrence train station.

I am not sure where we should find an apartment. Till now, the only place we have zeroed in on is San Bruno, Millbrae area. Is there any other place we could look at. Also, are there any apartments you can recommend.
