Hi, I'd REALLY appreciate your advice on which community I should live in with my gf in east bay. My new job is in Newark, I am moving in from out of state, so do not know much where to live.
The criteria is maximum 30 minute drive one way and very vibrant cultural/nightlife with feel of community. The choices I selected: Fremont, Newark, Union city, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, San Jose, Campbell. I chose above cities from the map, with general 10-15 mile radius. I have a car, so i am flexible, but also do not want to drive more than 30 min. We're in our mid/late-twenties. We prefer to live in an apartment or condo, hopefully with some nearby cafes, restaurants, shops, great nightlife, etc. It seems like all of these towns sort of blend together in one big urban sprawl, but ideally we'd be in an area that feels like a real distinct community with its own character and night life, active clubs/community, theatre etc.
I am open for any other towns that I may not know around this area.

I want to take my girlfriend out for a date to watch sunset or sunrise. We both live in the south bay. Preferably some place in the hills, so we can see the clouds among the hills; or at the beach/coast. Not too crowded place will be nice.

Hi, I'd REALLY appreciate your advice on which community my wife and I should live in. The choices are: San Mateo, Redwood City, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, & San Jose.

We'll be moving there in about a month. My new job is in San Jose. We're in our mid/late-twenties. We prefer to live in an apartment or condo, hopefully with some nearby cafes, restaurants, shops, nightlife, etc. It seems like all of these towns sort of blend together in one big urban sprawl, but ideally we'd be in an area that feels like a real distinct community with its own character and scene.

By the way, Palo Alto would be on this list too, but it appears to be too expensive (I need to keep our one-bedroom apartment well under $2K/month). I disincluded a few other Silicon Valley towns because they aren't on the Caltrain line. (An important criterion for us is to have a Caltrain stop within walking distance, because my wife doesn't have a car yet.)

THANK YOU FOR ANY ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE!

I am driving to San Jose from LA to visit some relatives next week. What are some cool things to do up there? Family-oriented activities. I know they have a Great America there, anything else anyone? I don't want to be bored to death out there.

I recently traveled for work to Fremont, CA, which is between San Jose and San Francisco. I enjoyed the weather and how nice all of the drivers were (especially in the city). Now I'm considering moving there. I'd like to know if anyone recently thought about moving to California (especially that area) and why, or why you didn't move. Did you perform any financial analyses? Are there any site that you'd recommend I check out for someone who's thinking about moving there? No sarcasm, please.
