I want to take my girlfriend out for a date to watch sunset or sunrise. We both live in the south bay. Preferably some place in the hills, so we can see the clouds among the hills; or at the beach/coast. Not too crowded place will be nice.

Go to the top floor of the Valencia Hotel on Santana Row - it's on the 7th floor and the bar is called 'Cielo'. You'll catch the best sunsets around.

You can see some very spectacular sunsets from the top of Mt. Hamilton.

try the coast along 1 by pigeon point lighthouse lots of small beaches along there that provided its not foggy are awesome for sunsets... pescadero area

i'm partial to the cliff house at ocean beach in SF, but that may be a bit far for you.
