im going to san jose, california to the winchester mansion next week and then to monterey. does anyone have any suggestions of anything else to do in san jose or monterey thats fun? My husband and I are going there for the first time.

The Winchester house is a very cool tour, do both the house tour and the garden/basement tour.
in Santa Clara there is Great America which is a theme park, there is also an Egyptian Museum in San Jose.
for Monterrey there is the Aquarium and a near by shopping district, it is a short drive to Santa Cruz and the beach boardwalk with an amusement park and a shopping/dining pier. you can also just take a drive down highway one and look at the scenery, highway one is one of the most beautiful, scenic drive in the world.

I recommend Great America or Raging Waters in San Jose. If you have small kids, Happy Hollow is cool. If you are touring the area check out the beaches in Santa Cruz, you will pass by there between San Jose and Monterey. In Monterey, definitely check out the Monterey Bay Aquarium and adjoining Cannery Row. Then go further on Highway 1 and take the scenic '17 mile drive' along the coast. Have fun in our city!

In Monterey, go to the Aquarium, Cannery Row for good food and shopping, do the 16-mile drive
In SJ, The Egyptian Museum (Rosicrucian Museum), and the Mystery house
