Take up bicycling.
Attend some church or spiritual organization.
Artistic activities, galleries, museums, a lot in San Francisco.
Always have a camera with you. The Japanese cherry festival. Palace of Fine arts, Cultural festivals. Gosh, there is a lot there.

Downtown San Jose, North Beach in SF, downtown Sunnyvale, Los Gatos or Palo Alto. Clubs I go to in San Jose that are good are The Vault, Scores, Vivid, Taste is really awsome, Farienhiet Lounge.
