I have a preschooler and want to be in a nice upscale good school type suburb. At the same time, it has to have easy access to S.F. (Soma) and housing (rent) that is not thru the roof. I basically want it all! :-) Someone mentioned Pleasanton to me...but not sure what it's like there. Heard lots of good things about Walnut Creek. Is there any difference commute wise from those 2 areas? Especially taking BART? Please help!

I am trying to plan a trip to San Francisco around April 16th and I am unsure where to book a hotel with so many options out there. I would like to stay around $200 per night. I want to be close to sight seeing locations like Fisherman's Warf. Any helpful tips for travel there would be appreciated as well as suggestions on things to do and see while there:)

I am moving to the east bay area and I need to know which is the best area to live in? I am a social worker so I probably will work in the low income areas but I rather live in a area I dont work to avoid seeing past clients. I plan to rent and pay 1000 the most for a 1 bedroom. Help!!!

We aren't interested in a golf resort. Perhaps a smaller, romantic place. Any help would be appreciated.

Where's the closest beach that's good for swimming and playing in (you know, sand castles, all that traditional beach stuff that kids love)?

I've heard the theories. It's hospital sewage. It's from the pond in nearby Heather Farms park. But I want to know what it really is and why it smells so darn bad!

Why am I hearing all this crazy stuff about San Fran? Ive already booked a trip there for this summer with my husband and my three kids and now people are telling me to keep my kids away from there. What is all the fuss about? Am I missing something? I was imagining something from like the show full house or something. Very nice area with beautiful scenery!

People have told me a decent apartment within 3 miles of downtown SF should be around $1,500 to $2,000, but I keep seeing very nice apartments on Craigslist for $1,200... should I be scared of this "low" $1,200 cost?

I was contemplating going on a family vacation to the city by the bay, but I am afraid that my children will be preyed upon by the city's many gay residents, or that liberals will harass us. Does anyone have any tips about whether or not this city is worth it for an upper-middle class conservative Christian family to visit? We do want to see the cable cars and fishermans wharf, but I don't know how much liberal scum we can handle.

I am flying in to San Francisco Airport internationally and have two big check in luggages. I plan on using the BART to take me to West Oakland. I have never been on the BART before and was wondering if they have repositories for luggage as I would not want to inconvenience other BART riders with my luggage.
