Are there any good locations one can go as a couple - (Tahoe is one option for skiiers if snow stands till end-March which is when I can make it for a short vacation, for instance). Places within a 5 hour drive from SF are most preferable. I have seen almost all the coast of California south of Monterey.
Thanks to all Answerers.

I'm thinking of moving to San Francisco and getting a studio apartment for $1,000 to $1,500 in one of the better neighborhoods - any advice about living there? Is the cost of living really high even if you're single, renting, and no car?

I'm thinking of moving to Fremont, California in a few months. I'd like to live near the BART. Is that a nice area of Fremont? What other parts of the city are nice to live in?

I would be coming in from Chicago on March 15th at1230 and leaving on the 17th at 1:00pm.

Is this worth it or is it not enough time? It would be my girlfriend and I and I found a place that looks cool to stay (The Argonaught hotel at Fishermans Wharf).

Thanks for the help!

I want to visit the cable car and Golden Gate bridge in SFO from Sunnyvale.

I can take a Caltrain to SFO, but can someone tell is there a Caltrain station near the Golden Gate bridge or one near the Cable Car at Powell/Market?

If not, if I take the Cable Car to the end to Fisherman Wharf, how far is the Golden Gate Bridge from there, and what is the best way to get there.

Thanks :-)

Where is the best place to stay in Napa Valley?
I am planning a luxury retreat for 10 key customers to Napa Valley. These people have the money to do whatever they want so we need to impress. I am not very familar with where to stay and what to do in Napa other than drink wine, play golf and go to spas so would like some recommendations on the most high end, luxury accommodations as well as high end winery tours, etc. In addition, I would like to find a location that has a full service, high end spa. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Has anyone made this drive before? I'm trying to figure out if it would be economically a bad decision to drive instead of buying two plane tickets? Also, if you've made this drive(or from the south to the Bay area), any tips at all would be great! I've never made a drive this huge before.

I have an opportunity to move to San Fran in 2 months when I graduate. I have visited many times, but never for a long period of time. If i believe i can afford 1500 or so a month rent( I dont mind it being small), what are good areas to live? and are there good sites to see properties(besides craigslist)?

I am young and want to live in the city, and preferably close to social/bar/music/ night life action as possible....

I keep hearing that San Francisco and Seattle are strikingly similar in culture/socially, politically, climate, and setting. Can anyone who has lived in both cities attest to this given the above mentioned attributes?
