We aren't interested in a golf resort. Perhaps a smaller, romantic place. Any help would be appreciated.

I've been to Napa a handful of times and don't think that much golf is played up there. The ultimate place to stay on your honeymoon is l'auberge du soleil. I would be jealous of you if you ended up staying here and if somehow you could tell us your experience I would be all ears! l'auberge is a luxury hotel chain. Though I've never stayed at the one in Napa, I had one of my best vacation experiences when we stayed at the l'auberge esperanza in Cabo. Service, food, amenities, room, location was awesome. I would expect nothing less at the l'auberge in Napa. You also should make your reservations to eat dinner at French Laundry. You also must visit Mumm for the sparkling wines and views off their terraces. Napa is truly romantic, relaxing and the perfect place to honeymoon! Have fun!

Auberge du soliel is good, and the Carneros Inn is also nice. There are also so great bed and breakfast places near down town. Beazley House, Cedar Gables Inn, Blackbird Inn are the most popular ones I can think of.
