I know about the piers, but are there any parks that are good viewing locations for the show?

I'll be there this summer in mid-June-- never been to California and am SO excited!! We are going to be staying in SF, but will use a couple of days to drive to Napa Valley and also to Big Sur.
Which restaurants are a must? Shopping? Attractions I can't miss? Thanks so much.

We have 2 little kids with. What is the best place to eat at Fishermans Wharf (not to outrageously priced)? Would you suggest driving across the Golden Gate Bridge, or just going to park near by to see it. If so, where is the best place to see and take pics of the bridge?

I have fallen in love with San Francisco. But, I can't move there for personal reasons for another ten years. What can I do to cope? It's my favorite city in the world! (Well, of the many that I've seen.)

I'm curious to know why many people tend to refer to it as "Cal". If it's because it's the University of California at Berkeley, why doesn't that hold up with the other schools in the UC system? Or for that matter, the Cal State system?

Please no hate messages or why X schools is better than Y or whatever. I'm curious to know the origin of that particular nickname.

Hi,
If we are planning to drive from SF to LA taking HWY 1...what would be the best place to stay at night to break our jouney as we have little kids with us? and we want to complete our trip in 2 days. instead of driving the whole day.
We dont wanna stay in some forest type lonely place. We are looking for some place where there is some population around.
Thanks

Please don't include Fisherman's Wharf or Alcatraz (he's seen them). Preferable options that don't involve too much walking (he's injured his foot). Thanks!

We are travelling to San Fran and plan on spending a day in the Napa/Sonoma area. The wineries are all starting to sound the same. Help me choose which ones to see! I prefer white wines, and from the moderate research I have done, it seems that a lot of the wineries in this area specialize in reds. Also, is it worth it to see the Geyser in Calistoga? Any recommendations for good moderately priced restaurants in the area? Any other tips on things to do in the Napa area are welcome!

Is it a one way toll? Are all the bridges in the area the same price? Trying to figure out if I should drive from Oakland-Hayward to the Giants game or take the train. Weighing the costs of each.

How much/bad is the fog in California?
Specifically in the Bakersfield or Paso Robles area? I am wondering how thick it is, how long it takes to 'burn' off, if you can drive in it and any other details you think would be useful! Thank you
