I have fallen in love with San Francisco. But, I can't move there for personal reasons for another ten years. What can I do to cope? It's my favorite city in the world! (Well, of the many that I've seen.)

Listen to "I Left My Heart In San Francisco" by Tony Bennet.

Or you could google "San Francisco" and see a ton of pictures of the city.

Visit in the summer when the fog is glorious and sets the stage for unbelievable scenes. Our neighborhoods are unreal with diverse character and charm. Enjoying a cocktail at one of our too-many-to-count vintage wooden bars and then emerging into the cool refreshing night on your way to a 2 a.m. meal to lament how to deal with the latest Giants'-induced heartache…. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

There are plenty of ways to quench your thirst for the city.
also don't feel upset that you cant live there. it is more exiting fantasing that living reality.
you could:
use Google Earth
watch Youtube videos
search for images
call friends there
listen to music about the city

i have lived in the bay my whole life and honestly I barely visit SF at all. it is better when you dont live in the city itself . it also adds a sense of mystery when you dont know where you are in the city.

Subscribe to the Chronicle. Then you can pore over all the news and shows and articles. I did that before I moved out here. And I also read the Register's website a lot. It was nice to feel connected to what was still going on.
