Have dinner at an ethnic restaurant from a country whose food you've never tried before. (Burmese? Nepalese? Afghani?...)

As a tourist, you have to hit Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. Try to get the Alcatraz tour. The sourdough at Boudin is great, and seafood is everywhere. Or just wander around Chinatown. Go shopping around Union Square. Take the cable car all over and take lots of pictures. The Stinking Rose is fun if you like garlic. And have dim sum somewhere on Geary.

I was last in SF in 1976, my wife and I loved riding the cable cars, give it a try, nights are the best in our opinion. And don't forget all the lovely food in China Town and at the Pier.
