what are ameties? do you mean amenities, as in restaurants, hotels, etc. things to do in general?
The mission itself is rather small and maybe will take you an hour tops to tour and check out.
apple farm is probably the best hotel in town. tri tip is king in terms of food. check out McClintocks, Mo's Smokehouse, Firestone Grill. For Italian, Buona Tavola is my fave.
SLO is also in the middle of central coast wine country. So I would probably head out south to Santa Maria or up north to Paso Robles, both probably 1/2 hour in either direction and go wine tasting.
And the single must see place for me is Sycamore Mineral Springs. The hotel is kind of pricey, but they do great spa services like massage and have these great outdoor redwood hot tubs and are open 24 hours a day.
