We have 2 little kids with. What is the best place to eat at Fishermans Wharf (not to outrageously priced)? Would you suggest driving across the Golden Gate Bridge, or just going to park near by to see it. If so, where is the best place to see and take pics of the bridge?

There is a Boudin Bakery restaurant - that is moderately priced - and in my opinion it is the best place to eat down near Fisherman's Wharf. OR..... just eat on the street. There are a bunch of vendors selling fresh shrimp cocktail and warm sour dough bread. It's yummy and it's the touristy thing to do.

Pieri 39 is majorly touristy - but it's a good place for the kids. Lots of shops and restaurants - and a carousel - and a view of the bay and Alcatraz and the sea lions.

To get a good picture of the bridge - you have to get near it - so you might was well drive over it. I think it's about $4.00 toll now - but it's easy enough to do.

It's also fun to take a drive down Lombard Street - the crookedest street in the world. I don't know how old your kids are - but if they are preschool or older - they will love it.

Hope you have a fabulous trip!

Dont drive across the brige, walk the kids they will love it and great views of the Bay, SF. Berkeley.

Drive towards the bridge entry south side and you will find the parking lot, gift shop etc.

A great location and walk for those photos and memories.

Two other locations, I enjoy are Chinatown and Japantown, get on a local bus Muni.

The gift shops are in expensive and the kids will be able to select some items that will make the trip worthy and fun.

Enjoy

There's a pizza/pasta place on the upper story of Pier 39. We took our grown kids and grand-daughter there. They have a buffet for $12. (I can't remember the name, but it's casual and the service was great, it's right next to Bubba Gumps). From there, take the kids to see the sea lions sunning themselves in the bay. That's right on Pier 39 and they're really cool to watch jumping and sunning. So is a huge submarine docked there, and there's an old arcade place right near the sub. I mean, really old. They have all kinds of old games from the 1930's and such, and they're all about $.25 and it's free to get in. Rainforest Cafe is right near there too. You won't run out of things to do at all.

Have fun, even us adults had a blast!
