So far I found three choices.
Airplane - too expensive.
Rental Car - 7 hour driving...hmmmm
Amtrak - only time i can go on is 3am

so far amtrak is my choice..but i am worried if its safe, as its 3 am ride and for 10 hours. I will be sleeping throughout..

any suggestions?? THANKS!!

We will be driving on a weekend, and will be leaving around 4 or 5 in the morning, so I am not sure if traffic will be that much of an issue.

Well, we have two girls who are 14 and 8.
We live in San Jose, CA, so something in the state would be best.
Our budget is pretty small, (about 1,000 dollars or less?)

I'm trying to find a website that offers working holidays in the US for 1 month. Can anybody reccomend one? Most of the sites seem to only offer 6 to 12 months. It seems the least amount of time you are expected to work is 2 months but I can't even apply for that because I'm on a gap year and that particular program is only open to current university students. Any advice?
