Your best bets other than picking up the car at Newark International Airport would probably be either Enterprise, Dollar, Hertz, or Avis. I'm not sure of specifics down there (I live 25 miles away from Freehold), but I know those are the most common in NJ.

Enterprize is usually the best. I used them many time in N. Jersey.
Affodable not cheap.
