wow more "schooling" from a cartoon. No Alaska does NOT pay you to move there. But if you become a resident, and are there for more than a year, AND if you are qualified you may recieve the PFD. This is the ALASKA PERMENT FUND DIVAND. This is money off of sales of our oil. And if you leave, those checks dont go with you unless you have a valid reason to leave alaska. I.E work, medical, schooling, military. the pfd checks range from anywhere from $500-$1900 depending on how sales per barrel goes.
The two links below are direct links to the PFD offices and explain the earnings and how its distrubited.

Are you thinking of the PFD (Permanent Fund Dividend-look it up)? That is the annual check that every adult and child gets from earnings that the profits make from investing oil money. This year it is going to be about $1600. If you are an Alaskan Native you may get an annual or quarterly check of profits made from Native Corporation investments. Some are more profitable than others. Now, some companies do pay for you to transfer up here and some might even give you an extra bonus for living up here. It all depends.

Alaska does not pay to your college! permit's get that out interior the open. Alaska does furnish the classes counsel for the coolest 10 p.c. of graduates of Alaska faculties. in case you % to return to Alaska for college super, yet you will pay greater classes to your first 365 days as an out of state (non-resident). reliable success with despite determination you're making. final analysis, there's no unfastened experience up right here. i'm putting ladies by college interior the subsequent six years and that i would be paying basically like anybody else that lives right here.

I don't believe so. In the past they used to pay people to live there i.e. reverse taxes if you will.

Don't get excited it's not a lot of money, maybe a $1,000 per year. The money came from taxes/etc paid by the oil companies for the North Slope oil. I'm not sure if they still do that?

No, not true. I live up here. you have to live here for a full year, no big gaps, to be able to qualify for the PFD, which is the dividend from the oil. we don't want a bunch of free loaders up here anyways, why would we pay people to come up, when there are millions of people paying exorbinant amounts of money every year just to see it? lol. bye.

I think it is true, but i think it is a secret. They do it because all of the oil corrupts the land and it is very low population.
