Hi people, does anyone know the status of the Silvertown Aquarium out in East London? is it going ahead/scraped?? I had a browse on their website http://www.silvertownquays-london.com/aquarium.htm and sent off a few emails but no reply... site says it will open in 2008 but i pretty much doubt it...

Public transport in Britain is a joke. To take a 10 minute bus ride it cancost a staggering 2.50 and to take the train....well forget it, you need a mortgage! I wouldn't mind if it was a pleasant and enjoyable experience but usually it is not.
I watched a programme recently about the train service and the inspectors did a one night inspection on one station and 50% of the travellers did not have the right ticket. The inspectors collected over 1000 pounds in extra fares!! If the train was cheaper then people would pay the correct fare.

The currency used in the UK is the British Pound.

I just read an answer on here from someone saying that "Euros are universally accepted in the UK and have a stronger exchange rate than the pound".

This is simply not true, if I went into my local supermarket and tried to pay with euros they would think I had gone mad!

Im still pretty young and I would love to live there for a while. What kind of work and school opportunities are available for US citizens. Are there any universities where I could study for my masters degree? Where is a good area in London to live in? Is there any places to play poker? Are foreigners allowed to invest in real estate? Am I allowed to open up my own business?

Thanks!
