I am not sure I can make it in 1 hour 45 min with local transport. Have to catch the plain in time and want to know if anyone know how much a taxi ride will be and maybe how long time it take?.

I'm thinking of doing this 15 mile walk one day soon when its not cold and the tides are right. Getting off the beach is very difficult in some places, easy in others.
If anyone can add to the list below, or add comments, I'd be very grateful.

Hornsea - OK except at high tide when access to south cliff is blocked
Mappleton - easy ramp access
Great Cowden - unknown
Mount pleasant / Aldborough - very difficult broken cliff
East Newton - unknown
Ringborough - easy on temporary ramp.
Monkwith - unknown
Tunstall - easy?
Waxholme - unknown
Withernsea - easy access

By best I mean the whitest, smoothest sand and the least crowded...I never even realised that Britain had any decent beaches to be honest but I am looking at this as a day trip option during the summer!

Hey everyone!

I've lived in sunny Birmingham for 4 years as a student! I'm just curious whether there's many people on here who have visited Birmingham or live here and what they like to do here :-) I'm fed up of all my friends who come from various parts of the country (particularly my London friend, lol!) saying that B'ham is cr@p! If it's that bad my dears, why did you move here? ;-) Defend the city, tell me what you love about it!

My favourite nighlife in Birmingham includes:
>DV8 club
>Oceana.... just about!
>Risa
>The Living Room
>Thai Edge
>Walkabout... the best pub!!
>Snobs... from what I can remember! V.V. drunk...
>Gosta (for anyone on here that goes to Aston Uni!)
>Old Orleans... give me those cocktails!
>The Mailbox.... if only I could afford it more than 3 times a year!

xx Emmie

What are the known bounderies? I have had an arguement with a man who said London is the biggest city, but I know Glasgow must be.
LONDON city is 1 mile square.
The Thames runs past Essex on one side and Kent on the other then past London. Yet so many people think the Thames runs through London.

Glasgow boasts the Clyde runs through Glasgow and the Kelvin, and the Canal, Oh what about the Alander?

Who here likes the introduction of the bendy buses (London)! I hate them!! They are always packed and it infuriates me when I see people get on and not pay!! I think Ken Livingston should either introduce bus conductors on these buses or get rid of them altogether!! I would like to hear other people's views on these buses!!

I am going to be a junior in college and I might be studying in London or somewhere else in the U.K. next spring. I am not going to be with friends. So I am just wondering - In London, how is the society there? Will it be easy for me to fit in? Do I have many opportunities to make friends as a 20 year old foreigner from the United States? What do you recommend on me doing in my spare time to make friends, meet people, meet women? How are Londoners in general? Are they accepting of foreigners?

Thank you for your help everyone

Can someone tell me if I can legally travel on my passport which is still in my maiden name? I have got 7 years left on it but begrudge paying the £66 just to change the name on it.

Last year I travelled on it from Luton to Edinburgh with Easyjet even though my ticket was in my married name but I took my marriage certificate as proof and they accepted it. Can I still do this or should I book a ticket in my maiden name?
