I am going to be a junior in college and I might be studying in London or somewhere else in the U.K. next spring. I am not going to be with friends. So I am just wondering - In London, how is the society there? Will it be easy for me to fit in? Do I have many opportunities to make friends as a 20 year old foreigner from the United States? What do you recommend on me doing in my spare time to make friends, meet people, meet women? How are Londoners in general? Are they accepting of foreigners?

Thank you for your help everyone

Londoners are well known for being tolerants and accepting foreigners. It a cosmopolitan city, with all tests, opportunities and problems of big cities. There are hundreds of thousands of 20s from different countries, ethnicity and religions, and all live together in London. So, welcome. Be one of the many, and have fun. Be warned though, its very expensive place to live in .

All the best!/

I think you'll find most young people particularly friendly, particularly to Americans. The prices and poor service in shops, pubs and restaurants will come as a shock, but boy will you appreciate good service when you go home! Also, you don't get free refills of drinks most places so you'll find that an expensive disappointment. Meeting women will be easy, especially in pubs, clubs and bars. I hope you enjoy your time studying here.
