By best I mean the whitest, smoothest sand and the least crowded...I never even realised that Britain had any decent beaches to be honest but I am looking at this as a day trip option during the summer!

Perranporth has a really wide beach, St Ives is picturesque too.

Carbis Bay, St Ives is a fantastic beach although it can get busy. If you want a quiet beach just drive round to some of the small coves.

Bude Bay used to be a beautiful flat beach, but I have'nt been for years, and it's probably full of Surfers now.

try St Ives, avoid tacky Newquay.
