I thought I was called a bird by a Brit visiting the states but effingpot.com refers to males as blokes and females as broads.

I'm so incredibly angry. I'm travelling home from London (Paddington) to Newton Abbot (Devon) for my father's birthday. It will cost £63 for return ticket. This is obscenely expensive for a 2.5 hours journey each way. I am booking ONE MONTH ahead. Don't say coach - I'm not spending 5 hours travelling on a Friday night. Any secrets for bookig cheaper train tickets? - is it true the cheap tickets are released in 'batches' so it's just luck of the draw when you get cheaper tickets, rather than how far ahead you book? Advice please!
This is a journey I do often but it's never been this expensive before - never over £40 that I can recall.
This is a question about TRAINS - I'm not interested in alternative forms of transport, thanks. I like the train and I don't intend to get a car or use the coach. Thanks for any intelligent replies to this genuine question.

However, many web sites have stated that America is cleaner than the USA...which means that American cities are cleaner than US cities...whic statement is the correct one?

i am going with my family to the sherwood forest center parcs and know how much it will be for the accommodation but on the website it doesn't really give an idea of the prices for all of the activities (or if there is i cant find it!) and as there are 3 fairly young children they will want to do a lot! i was just wondering if anyone can tell me whether the prices are very expensive or whether its quite reasonable and what you get free, i also heard that you get to go into the swimming pool water park part free, is this true?

I booked a room at a Travelodge on the internet last night, but picked the wrong location from the list. When I realised (about 2 seconds later), I cancelled. The website allowed me to cancel but would not refund the money. Now I have no room and no money. Is this fair? Tried phoning but can only speak to a machine. Tried emailing but can only get a response 'withinb 10 days'! What can I do?
