London's a great city - but property here is horribly expensive. And Chelsea prices are stratospheric. You won't find a house there much under £1m, and even a modest apartment will set you back at least £450,000. Best to try some of the cheaper areas - though even then, anywhere reasonably central and you're looking at £250,000 for a one-bedroom apartment.

i would look for a place outside of london but close enough to catch the bus or tube into the city. that way you get the best of both worlds, cheaper rent and city living. definatley a good mix.

very expensive for the nice areas, expensive for the nasty areas. Scary if you're on your own, dirty and overpriced. Did I mention cold?
