I currently live in Chelsea but it's too posh and pretentious and the neighbors don't seem to get to know each other. Plus full of outsiders vs. locals, and too many strollers and middle aged couples for a single guy.

So... where to go? Single, 30s, straight, cultured, American. like coffee shops, quiet pubs, independent restaurants and shops, art galleries, you get the picture

thanks!

If I have 2 days to fill in what would be my best plan of action to see the sights, will be based in London and recovering from a 24 hour flight first. Also what will the weather be like early September-much rain? Transfers from Heathrow to central London by mini bus-can they be booked on arrival or is it safer to book them over the net-due to arrive at 0630. I will have the day in London on my last day and a 10pm flight are there any shower facilities at the airport or a hotel like in Singapore where you can have a day room?

Hi,
A friend of mine, who is a UK resident but temporarily works in Nigeria, is travelling back to UK for few days. He has been told by the travel operator that he needs to show USD1500 as running expenditure at exit control before he can leave for UK. The travel operator says this is a goverment law and applies to everyone. Is this correct? Why would a UK national have to show any money to come back to their home?
Thanks and regards

I am looking for a guide that lists pubs/inns that do accommodation, specifically in East Anglia (or Eastern England as we're supposed to call it now)..

Any suggestions?
