Hi,
A friend of mine, who is a UK resident but temporarily works in Nigeria, is travelling back to UK for few days. He has been told by the travel operator that he needs to show USD1500 as running expenditure at exit control before he can leave for UK. The travel operator says this is a goverment law and applies to everyone. Is this correct? Why would a UK national have to show any money to come back to their home?
Thanks and regards

Maybe to prove that he is really working in Nigeria...

It doesn't make any sense... but it might be that!
