I am flying to london in January and want to know some of the out of the way places that I should visit. Not all of the tourist-y places but the real London.

I wouldn't go. I don't want government perverts watching me with their cameras.

I'm planning on visiting london with my wife soon and we're going to stay for a week. I've never been there before but my wife has. Would a week be enough for a general trip? Also, any suggestions for non-touristy things to do? We're coming from New York City, so we tend to shy away from some of the more typical attractions.

Thanks.

This is our first time to go to London. I'll be working at heathrow airport and i hope to find a home at Hayes. The company offered me 27k per annum, do you think it's enough to live with & also save some for the future? Also, which is better, to accept a company car or a car allowance (3k per annum)? We really need all the advice we can get, especially from those who already live in London. Thanks in advance!

I am very interested in living in the countryside of U.K. What are the climate, nature, people, services, public transportation, free-time e.t.c. like? And what are the differences between Finland and U.K when living outside the big cities?

Could you list a few English words that are uncommon in Canada? For example, Loo..?? Or is it pronounced Lou? I think it means toilet.
We speak American English, so we're not too familiar with the British one.
