Trip to London?

I am flying to london in January and want to know some of the out of the way places that I should visit. Not all of the tourist-y places but the real London.

Portobello Road flea market is cool; Hampstead Heath (a park, I think). Kensington Gardens.

Even "toursity" stuff like the Tower of London and the British Museum are interesting.

If you go outside London, take a train up to York (city w/a Roman wall surrounding it).
