Just head up, it will be snowing not far from anywhere. There is snow on them hills already. If you are looking to stay somewhere over Christmas, hotels and meals can be pretty pricey and busy so you had better get you finger out. If you go to Glasgow it is not a far train/car journey a bit north so you can experience some snow. Similarly, Edinburgh is very beautiful, there will be snow no doubt also. (But the folk urnae as good fun....) ;o)

It tends not to snow in Scotland at Christmas anymore (global warming) and snow tends to fall in January/February now. There might be the odd snow shower but if it's fairytale christmas you're after, better off going to Finland or something. (Even there snow is not guaranteed at Christmas). And they say that there is no evidence of global warming.........

If you want snow, the Cairngorms are going to be your best bet - most areas in Scotland tend not to get so much snow until January/February.

I don't know if it would be snowing, but Edinburgh is truly beautiful at any time of year and I highly recommend it.
